Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Daniel Fenton, a sole proprietor in Washington, DC ("we," "us"), handles information through Focli. Focli is a private, invitation-only task assistant with an iOS app, push notifications, and optional SMS messaging.
Information Focli handles
- Your email address and account identity when you sign in.
- Your mobile phone number, SMS consent record, opt-out status, and delivery metadata if you voluntarily enable text messages.
- Message content while Focli routes and responds to a text you send.
- Tasks and normalized reminder information you choose to synchronize with Focli.
- Device tokens needed to deliver push notifications.
Focli reads Calendar locally on your device to provide context in the app. Calendar event content is not uploaded to the Focli server. Laptop-based email scanning is separate and does not send raw email content to Focli.
How information is used
- To show, create, update, and organize your tasks and reminders.
- To send task digests, time-sensitive task alerts, and replies you requested.
- To deliver push notifications and optional SMS messages.
- To operate, secure, troubleshoot, and support the service.
SMS data and sharing
Twilio processes phone numbers, message content, and delivery metadata as Focli's SMS delivery provider. Infrastructure providers may process limited information only as needed to operate the service.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in or consent data are not sold, rented, or shared for another party's marketing. Service providers may process information only to provide supporting services such as message delivery and hosting.
Focli does not sell personal information and does not use SMS data for advertising.
Message storage
Focli does not retain raw SMS bodies in its task-agent store. If you ask Focli to create or update a task, the resulting task and sanitized task details may be retained as part of your task history. Delivery providers may retain message records under their own policies and legal obligations.
Your choices
- SMS is optional. You can use Focli and receive push notifications without consenting to text messages.
- You may receive up to 3 automated messages per day, plus replies to messages you send. Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe from SMS.
- Reply HELP for help, or email info@dmfenton.net.
- Email info@dmfenton.net to request access, correction, or deletion.
Retention and security
Focli retains account, task, consent, and opt-out records only as needed to operate the service, honor your choices, meet legal obligations, and prevent abuse. We use access controls, encryption, and separated application storage to protect this information.
Children
Focli is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
